What’s that you say…you’ve got lots of questions?
GREAT! We can’t wait to answer them. So below are some of the most sought after answers from Camp Lu-Jo!
“How old does my child have to be to attend camp?”
LJK: Each session has its own age requirements, so please check out the “Sessions-Directors” page to discover specifics. Generally speaking, Camp Lu-Jo has individual weeks which allow for children as young as those entering 1st grade up to those who just graduated from high school.
“When do campers show up for camp?”
LJK: Camper registration does not begin UNTIL 2:30 P.M. Sunday and ends promptly at 5:00 P.M.
“What if I don’t have time to send in a registration form by mail? Can we just show up to register on Sunday?”
LJK: Of course! Please note however that each camp week has a MAXIMUM number of beds available, so it is possible to be completely booked.
“When should campers be picked up at the end of the camp week?”
LJK: Pick up begins AFTER 8:30 A.M. and BEFORE 10:00 A.M. on Saturday morning of each camp session. (Note: Camp Staff is dismissed at 10:00 am on Saturday).
“When can parents, family and guests visit during the week?”
LJK: Guests are encouraged to join campers in evening worship services, which occur daily (Sunday through Friday). Check with your particular week’s schedule for exact times.
“So what does a camper bring to camp?”
LJK: Here’s our most basic list…
-Bible
-Pencils and paper
-Clothes for a week
*also bring
-shoes (for sports)
-Sweater or jacket (for cool nights)
-cap or hat (for sun)
-Personal articles: toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, comb, towels, etc.
-Sheets, blankets, pillow, laundry bag, etc.
-Flashlight and batteries
-Sunscreen and Insect Repellant
-Items for Kismif Kapers, if desired
“Can I bring my stereo, mp3, iPod, Headphones, Gameboys and electronics…stuff like that?”
LJK: Camp Lu-Jo is a fantastic oasis away from all the regular routine things of your life—including your electronics! Here you’ll get outdoors and into God’s creation with new friends, and you’ll experience firsthand how you can have a closer relationship with God. So leave the electronics at home. And trust us, you won’t miss them.
“Ok, so what else should my child leave at home before coming to Camp?”
LJK: We’ve already mentioned the electronics. Also on the “DO NOT BRING” list are lighters, matches, tobacco products, fireworks, hunting knives, firearms, laser pointers, playing cards and/or collectors cards.
“What is the dress code for Camp Lu-Jo?”
LJK: Here’s the short list of dress related items that are disallowed:
-Tank tops, low cut blouses/ t-shirts, short shorts are not allowed. (Note: MINIMAL length allowed on shorts or dresses is the top of the knee when standing.)
-Clothing with inappropriate printing or messages (as determined by the Camp Director) are also not allowed.
“What if my child has prescriptions and medications?”
LJK: The Camp Director or an Assigned Staff Member should be notified of all prescriptions or medicines to be taken by a camper during the camp session.

-Talk with your church about supporting Camp Lu-Jo KISMIF either through monetary contributions, sending its children for a life-changing Lu-Jo camp session, or BOTH!

-Provide for Camp Lu-Jo’s long term by endowing Camp Lu-Jo camp in your will.
